Your adventure begins with a transfer from Libreville to Wonga Wongue National Park, one of Gabon’s most biodiverse and scenic protected areas. Upon arrival, you’ll settle into your eco-friendly accommodation and enjoy full-board meals at the site. The afternoon and evening are dedicated to safari activities, exploring the park’s forest trails and spotting a variety of wildlife, guided by our experienced rangers. This first day offers a perfect introduction to Gabon’s forests and coastal ecosystems.
Spend a full day immersing yourself in the wonders of Wonga Wongue National Park. Guided forest walks, game drives, and optional river activities allow you to discover the park’s rich biodiversity, including primates, duikers, forest elephants, and birdlife. Meals are provided at the lodge, giving you time to relax and share stories from the day’s sightings while enjoying the sounds of the jungle.
After breakfast, enjoy the day at leisure before boarding the late afternoon jungle train to Lopé National Park, a scenic journey through Gabon’s inland landscapes. Arrival is expected at night, where you’ll check into a local hotel for an overnight stay. Meals are not included on the train, but accommodation is provided, giving you a comfortable base before the next phase of your expedition.
Today marks the beginning of your on-foot jungle trek in Lopé National Park. Meeting the team of local guides and eco-rangers, you will explore the forest in search of wildlife such as mandrills, monkeys, chimpanzees, duikers, red river hogs, pangolins, elephants, buffaloes, and possibly gorillas. You’ll spend the night camping in the forest, with simple meals prepared at the campsite, experiencing the sights, sounds, and rhythms of the jungle firsthand.
Continue your trek through Lopé’s lush forests, moving deeper into the park’s remote wilderness. Guided walks provide opportunities to spot elusive wildlife, learn about the local ecosystem, and witness the incredible biodiversity of this region. Once again, you’ll camp in the forest, with meals prepared at the campsite, enjoying a night under the stars surrounded by the sounds of the jungle.
Today combines adventure on land and elevation. Start with a half-day safari in a 4x4 vehicle, exploring Lopé’s savanna-forest mosaic in search of larger mammals and forest species. In the afternoon, hike to the summit of Mount Brazza, taking in panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes and reflecting on your jungle experience. After the hike, you’ll spend the night at a local hotel, with dinner not included, allowing you some personal choice for your evening meal.
After breakfast, board the train back to Libreville, concluding your expedition across Gabon’s coast and jungle. Meals are not included on the train, but the journey provides a final scenic passage through Gabon’s diverse ecosystems, marking the end of this immersive adventure.
