After breakfast, we travel by boat along Gabon’s tropical coastline to the small town of Omboué. The boat ride offers beautiful views of the rainforest lining the coast, where you may spot birds, crocodiles, or hippos along the riverbanks. Upon arrival in Omboué, explore the town and its surroundings, taking in the relaxed local life and picturesque scenery. Overnight in local accommodation.
Today we explore the lagoon surrounding Omboué, including a visit to the historic Sainte-Anne Mission, whose Eiffel-designed church was transported and built in Gabon in 1889. If accessible, we’ll also visit Gorilla Island, a sanctuary dedicated to reintroducing gorillas into the wild. Enjoy birdwatching and wildlife viewing along the river, keeping an eye out for crocodiles, hippos, and a variety of colorful bird species. Return to your accommodation in Omboué for the night.
After breakfast, transfer to Loango National Park, a unique coastal and rainforest ecosystem. Check into your bungalow perched near the beach, offering views of both forest and ocean.
